Bittersweet Symphony

For many on the ACU campus, the moment in college life that is filled with the most apprehension and anticipation is the night social club bids are distributed. There is laughing, crying, screams of joy and jumping up and down, (well, at least in the girls dorms..it's a scary place to be) heartbreak, and disappointment.
A much lesser known, but equally, if not more, bittersweet night is the night that the ACU Wind Ensemble audition results are posted. And for these people, this night doesn't come once, but four times (or more) in their college career. With around 30 people waiting, the list went up at 11 pm after many had been waiting or checking in most of the day. The reactions, though, differed somewhat from those of bidnight. The most common emotions were relief (combined with concern for those who didn't make it) and disappointment.

I am excited to be a part of the wind ensemble again.
For those who are in concert band, I know it's going to be an awesome season, there is a lot of talent in that group...have fun with it.
