Fun Times

Arrgg...Computers take all the fun out of this kind of stuff. I actually had progress on a blog and of course my computer froze. Oh the wonders of technology.

I think I just got done blaming my absence on blogger's block, therefore skipping any interesting occurrences of the last two weeks including Homecoming and the conclusion of pledging.

Fall break is the intended focus of this blog:

Fall break 2004: Sigma Pi Phi roadtrip to Kingsville and Corpus Christi with approximately 35 friends...and of course friends of friends.

Thursday: The leaving
The caravan dwindled to two cars with the change of plans of others in the group. The parking lot median attacked us before we could even leave. Eventually, after the fear of a gas leak that turned out to be just car computer confusion, we were on our way...only about an hour and a half delayed. Several rounds of 20 questions, dinner in Brady, a gas stop in San Antonio, and a few power naps later, we made it to Kingsville. Exit car, enter humid jungle of South Texas, exit humid jungle, enter arctic tundra of the community center where we stayed. Settled in, and finally got to sleep after the football and volleyball were stolen from the boys so they would stop making noise.

Friday: The Beach
Good times including smashing jellyfish, feeding seagulls, burying EC, oyster races, sand castles, waves, and volleyball. Lots of sun and sand, and I escaped with minimal sunburns. Dinner at the Fullbright's...I still don't really know what I ate. I know there was turkey...and sausage...but as to what the sausage was made of, I have no idea. The moon was painted...by most...and many items were packed for our future trip...also to the moon. Can I take Tortuga? Late night activities included Murder in the Dark, random other games, and also some random (much needed) girl talk.

Saturday: The day of indecision
The plan: to split up and do what you want, either the beach, the aquarium, or the mall. My choice, the aquarium...sounded fun to me...yay fish. Lunch was a stop at "Subway Subway Subway!!" Aquarium was fun...cute blowfish looked like a cabbage patch doll, blue lobster was 1 in 5 million, jellyfish are colorful, dolphins are smart, wrestled concrete alligators... Came back, ate good pizza, watched ACU beat A&M Kingsville...for half the game, went to The Grudge, dressed up everybody to go to Whataburger, had a talk.., more "girly" moments, bed.

Sunday: Good church, Good food, more driving
Gotta love small town churches where the football game is brought up in class/service at least five times. Potluck...gimme some fried chicken and a dessert plate and I'm good to go. Drive home, play more 20 questions, drive through some rain, get a phone call from Mark about the broken jaw that wasn't broken...that was a mean joke...Made it home alive.

I survived Corpus Christi 2004.

The End...
