Football Makes Me Happy

Life without cable has been somewhat of an adjustment for me. Really, it's probably good that we don't have TV because it would probably always be on. I do, however, very much miss watching my sports. At least I don't have to worry about not being able to see hockey games, cuz those sure are out of the picture this year. As the NHL goes down the hole, a gap is left in my heart....but, alas, it is Intramural football season. I have three teams that have my full support: the Big Purple guys team, the Big Purple girls team, and of course Alpha Kai Omega (who, by the way, sure did beat the Kojies tonight, I was very happy). Every once in awhile I might even stop by at a Pike or GSP game if I feel so inclined to do so. So at least for the next several weeks, I will have no worries of having no TV, because I can spend all the time I want (in which I should probably be studying) watching Intramural football.

On a different note, it turns out that the ACO (Abilene Collegiate Orchestra) really is trying to take over my life. Our first concert is in just a few weeks, on October 15. Ok, yeah, great, whatever....the problem: not only in October 15 a Friday (who schedules concerts on Fridays, seriously) but it is also the night of AkaiO's grub. There is anger and sadness, yes, but I am determined to make it work. One way or another I will go to both...

Okay, So I was wrong about the Texas liscense plate thing. I guess Texas is actually okay in that aspect.

Life is going to start to get crazy this week.

Lord help me to focus on You above everything else in these crazy times....my mind has a tendency to wander.

God is my Alarm Clock

So it's been awhile...I've been a bit busy this week focusing on my Microbiology test that I took this morning. I was quite relieved that it was not nearly as hard as I expected it to be. The rest of my day turned out to be pretty interesting. I ate breakfast at the Bean today...a little weird, I know but there's no way I'm gonna use all of my bean bucks so I figured I may as well. Micro lab was cancelled, so naturally I went home to chill before chapel. So on my way to chapel, I'm driving around looking for a parking spot, and I sure did get backed into. Always a good feeling. I was sitting behind this girl for like 30 seconds and then she decided she was gonna back up...definitely didn't ever see me. Luckily, her back bumper went directly into my front liscense plate and did no damage to my car, and only slightly scratched hers...Just think, if I were a Texan, I wouldn't have a liscense plate on my front bumper, and I'd probably have a nice pretty dent in my car. Ha! Texas loses again!
I took my second attempt at a nap after class and before orchestra...this was a good nap...apparently too good, I was out cold. So I set my alarm on my phone for 3:30, which gave me plenty of time to be awake and be to orchestra by 4:10. Of course, the automatic reflex was to turn off my alarm as soon as it went off, and naturally, fall back asleep. Half hour later, I hear an alarm, realize it's 4:00, jump out of bed and drive to orchestra...but wait, I turned my phone alarm off, my regular alarm clock was off...there was no alarm. Apparently the alarm clock I heard was in my dream, conveniently right when I needed to wake up and leave. How cool is that? God works in some fun ways...just enough to confuse us a little, and then get on with our day.

Dilemma of the Day

Question: Should I play on the YBP intramural football team?

Pros:
-Something new and totally different, i don't know if I've ever actually played a real game of football outside of Jr high PE.
-I would get a t-shirt, and that's what ACU is all about.
-They need more girls, the more girls there are, the cheaper it'll be

Cons:
-I am the most uncompetetive person ever.
-Every other girl that wants to play is apparently out for blood....no really...i'm a little scared
-$225 per team...dang that's a lot o' money, and I don't got none, I po.
-I'm not even excited about it
-The last time I played for an intramural team, I only made it to one game. Actually, it was more like half of a game.

Yeah, so that's lookin like a no. It's official, I'm not going to do it.

....talk to me in about a week once the deadline comes around...if I say that I'm playing football, I am officially the world's biggest pushover.
